Biography:

Dr. Abhishek Nandan was nurtured and completed his primary education in Troy, Michigan. He completed his undergraduate studies and medical school at Michigan State University. He completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in rheumatology at VCUHS. Dr. Nandan sees patients solely at the Central Virginia Veterans Affairs Healthcare System (VA) and is the Chief of the Rheumatology Division at the VA. He serves as site director for the VCUHS Rheumatology Fellowship at the VA and is an Associate Program Director for the fellowship. He is an avid runner, hiker, and reader. 

Interests:

Dr. Nandan performs or has performed research in graduate medical education and value-based rheumatic care. He has mentored residents and fellows who have published and have had abstracts presented at American College of Rheumatology Annual Meetings. He has also served on national American College of Rheumatology committees including CARE (Continuing Assessment, Review, and Evaluation) and GESC (Global Education Special Committee). He is a graduate of the Ultrasound School of North American Rheumatologists (USSONAR).
