Welcome from the Program Director

Dr. Wei ZhaoWelcome to the VCU Allergy and Immunology Fellowship Training Program. Virginia Commonwealth University (formerly Medical College of Virginia) has long-standing history of providing excellent clinical care to our patients. The combined adult and pediatric allergy training program provides unique experience in training our next generation of allergists and immunologists. We serve patients from Commonwealth Virginia as well as from other areas of the country with remarkable diversity. VCU Health has been recognized for excellence as the #1 Hospital in the state of Virginia and in the Richmond metropolitan area by US News and World Reports. The newly opened Adult Outpatient Pavilion sets the new standard of outpatient care with built-in parking for patients. The Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU has grown significantly in all medical specialties. Its new ambulatory building is a state of art facility in providing patient care. The new inpatient building is scheduled to be in service in April 2023 that will significantly enhance the children’s care of Virginia. The diversity, clinical excellence, and rich learning environment provide excellent experience in allergy training for our fellows.
