Dr. Moinuddin received his medical degree in 2003 from the University of Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his Internal Medicine residency training in 2010 at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. He then worked as an internist for 5 years before he decided to pursue his nephrology fellowship training in 2015. He completed his Nephrology fellowship training in 2017 and Transplant Nephrology fellowship training in 2018 at Virginia Commonwealth University. He joined VCU as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine in 2018. 

He also serves as the co-chair of the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Committee of the VCU Kidney Transplant program.

Dr. Moinuddin is actively involved in research related to management and outcomes of kidney transplants. His clinical research interests include biomarkers in kidney transplantation rejection, desensitization and treatment of viral infections in solid organ transplant recipients. He has multiple peer reviewed publications and has given multiple oral and poster presentations at the national conferences.
