Dr. Sudeep Pandey is a palliative medicine specialist at VCU Health with a faculty appointment as Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, Division of Hematology, Oncology, and Palliative Care, in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Pandey serves as the Program Director for the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship and holds additional leadership and education roles within the Palliative Care Section.
Dr. Pandey began his medical journey at the Armed Forces Medical College in Pune, India, earning his M.B.,B.S. degree in 2005. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland Capital Region Health, where he was honored to serve as Chief Resident. Following residency, Dr. Pandey pursued a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at VCU Health System followed by an advanced fellowship year emphasizing research, evidence-based practices, and academic growth.
In his current positions, Dr. Pandey oversees the clinical training and mentorship of future medical professionals, including medical students, residents, and specialists in palliative care. His contributions extend to curriculum development, competency assessments, and promoting scholarly activities. Passionate about interprofessional education, Dr. Pandey advocates for systemic improvements in palliative care through interdisciplinary collaboration. His areas of expertise encompass symptom management, end-of-life care, and the application of evidence-based practices to advance palliative medicine.
