Patrick Nana-Sinkam MD, is Chair of the Division of Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine. He holds the Linda Grandis Blatt Chair in Lung Cancer Research. A member of both the Cancer Cell Signaling and Cancer Prevention and Control research programs at the Massey Cancer Center, Dr. Nana-Sinkam’s research has focused on the molecular pathogenesis of lung cancer and identification of novel tumor biomarkers for early lung cancer detection and surveillance.  He has been well funded by the National Cancer Institute and National Institute for Drug Abuse. Dr. Nana-Sinkam is a member of the National Cancer Institute Early Detection Research Network, and helped author the ACCP Lung Cancer Guidelines III (Molecular Biology of Lung Cancer).  Dr. Nana-Sinkam has served as a member on a number of NIH study sections, and is an editorial board member for several scientific journals, including the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine; Journal of Thoracic Oncology; Frontiers in Thoracic Oncology; and Lung Cancer Frontiers.  A tireless advocate for the mentorship of young investigators, Dr. Nana-Sinkam previously served as the lead for mentorship in the center for faculty advancement, mentorship and engagement (FAME) at the Ohio State University. He currently serves as the co-principal investigator of the KL2 award in the Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research at VCU. Dr. Nana-Sinkam has published over 80 original scientific reports, 6 invited editorials/reviews, and 11 book chapters.
