Moving and Relocation

Employees who are given a moving and relocation allowance have two options for payment. The Department of Internal Medicine can pay the moving and relocation cost upon receipt of invoice directly from Armstrong Moving and Relocation or the employee may pay the moving and relocation up front and be reimbursed by submission of receipts after the first day of employment.*

  • Employee signs moving and relocation agreement.
  • Employee contacts Armstrong Moving and Relocation to set up appraisal.

  • The moving and relocation process when the employee pays and is reimbursed:
  • Employee signs and returns moving and relocation agreement.
  • Employee selects a moving and relocation company to process move from current residence to Richmond, Va.
  • Employee submits receipts for all moving and relocation expenses to division administrator.
  • Division administrator will process reimbursements and submit for payment.

Please note: Reimbursement for employee paid moving and relocation expenses cannot be refunded until after the employee’s first day of work and payment is based on VCU and/or VCU Health System payroll schedules.

Employment Agreement for Reimbursement of Moving and Relocation Expenses

Any employee to be reimbursed for moving and relocation expenses must sign an employment agreement for reimbursement of moving and relocation expenses before any such expenses are incurred. If the employee terminates employment before one year of service, the employee will refund the gross amount of moving and relocation reimbursements.
